just after 4 Am & told us of the General Alarm.  Margaret rang Bill<\/a>\n<\/span>\n& hes just come with the car to take Dick back to Aldershot for which I shall be always grateful as he has no pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday 9th Last night 8.40.  Warning Siren Margaret & I had just got back from a Short Walk.  we took a couple of cheese sandwiches & our night Clothes & Retired to the Shelter.  we had also armed ourselves with a wee drop of Gin & Whisky  the Whisky settled me inside for I was worried stiff over Dick & couldn\u2019t settle.  However we had a Tremendous lot of AA Gunfire & Jerry over till after 2 Am.  our AA Guns seemed to worry him a lot for one could hear him climb again & again & could not drop his cargo.  it was a lovely moonlight night & we heard the shrapnel falling around us.  Had a little letter from Dick this morning & he got back & everything was OK what a relief.  Margaret just gone off on her round so I must hurry & get cleared up so that we cant finish packing in case of emergency here.  but plenty of aerial fighting overhead have not yet pack am really in a muddle last night the all clear Sounded early 1. Am but M & I stayed in Shelter & slept till 7.30 Am.  the weather has changed & is now pouring with rain so perhaps with low clouds rain & wind well be able to sleep in our beds for a change.  I\u2019m going to Aldershot to see Dick tomorrow all being well & I heard n have no phone call to tell me different  a letter from Joan this morning written on the 5th & one from Dick written on the 8th  shows how Jerry has put Postal & other services out but why worry he has had everything in his favour but still he\u2019s being defeated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
