The Lost Diary to date is in the Boots Diary for 1955  the coldest winter ever  a Freeze uo until the 25 Feb:  Snow but no rain until the 21st March yesterday & then not a lot.  today Showerey   An epidemic of Flue colds going on all over the Country  I havent heard from Rhoda  since I wrote & told her I didnt think it fair to either Hilda or Monica not to know they are half sister  a most rotten way for a mother to treat a daughter the way Rhoda has treated Hilda  However if she has a conscience it must prick at times

An appalling Summer  not a day in August without Rain another beginning  there was a Terrific Gale. with rain apple trees up rooted.  Beans down flat uprooted or broken  a pane of glass from Top of verandah taken clean out  blown over Roof top & smashed in mid air its pieces on front Lawn  pieces from the front gate & either side  it was fantastic the way it went and the area cover.  2nd week Sept & oct till today a Gorgeous Autumn  lovely fine sunny warm day  today is showery & windy but not cold  am going out on Friday to see Richard receive his first prize at the Grammar school.  he was 2nd in form not too bad  hope the weather is better than today  its blowing as well as raining hard  Joan has not had any money £3 from Leicester since July.  I trust the boys will remember these things & realize the Good & bad & what its worth to be good & not so unkind & selfishly Cruel as their Father.
