Nov 25 1940

One of the German Warships operating in overseas Water Report as a result of her operations so far the sinking of 95,000 tons of enemy merchant shipping  The reprisal raids of the German Air Force on London continued during the night following Nov 23rd  Battersea, Southwick and other districts of the metropolis were the targets of successful bombing raid  numerous German Bomber Squadrons attacking in incessant waves also dropped Bombs of all callibres on Southampton as already reported  In the harbour and in the Industrial area enormous fires broke out which could be seen from as far away as the French Coast  Various  objectives of Military importants on the West & South Coast of England were also successfully bombed  The mining of the British Coast was continued  In the day time German Aircraft . bombed London and a number of points on the Channel coast.  in the Course of armed reconnaissance [?] activities during the night following Nov 24th British aircraft dropped a number of bombs in Northern Germany without achieving any effects worthy of note  The Report released by the British Ministry of Information that British Aircraft had bombed Railways Station in Berlin during the night following Nov 23rd is false  not a single British plane flew over Berlin during the night in question  ONE British aircraft was shot down in aerial combat   Three German planes are missing

26th
A German Submarine under the Command of a Lt-Com Schepke sank 41,000 400 tons of enemy merchant Shipping  During the night following Sunday the German airforce successfully continue its retalitory attacks on London  [illegible] Explosions & Fires were observ particulary in the centre of the City and on both banks of the Thames.  further strong air force formations directed their attacks on objectives of Military importants in Bristol as already reported. for several hours  Incendiary Bombs & explosive bombs of the heaviest Callibre were dropped on Harbour installations in-dustrial works. and Public utility plants a number of Warehouses. full of raw material in the harbour area  Doubtful to the planes three Gasometer were destroyed & a large mill burnt down  fires were raging all over the Bristol area chosen for the attack as could be ascertained the following day by Reconnaissance planes  further attack were directed against a number of towns in the Midlands & in Southern England  Yesterday s daylight operations of the Ger: Air force over Briton were restricted owing to unfavourable weather condition  small formation of Ger:Light Bombers successfully bombed a number of objectives of Military importants in England  Mine laying oper: off British Harb & along sea route were contimue according to plans Doubtful   effectively shelled a British Convoy Which attempted to break thro: to the Western exits of the English Channel  the convoy was dispersed  last night enemy planes dropped Bombs at several points on NW Germ only slight damage was caused in a Village  the Enemy lost 2 aircraft yesterd  one of which was shot down in aerial combat  the other by AA guns no German planes were lost

Nov 27th  Owing to unfavourable weather conditions The German airforce restricted its activity on Monday night and yesterday to armed Renconn. and operations by planes flying singly  several fires were caused during night raids on Avonmouth  During the course of the attack on British Convoys an escort vessel of 7,000 tons was sunk off Falmouth, off the Thame Estuary two merchant ships of medium displacement were damaged by Bombs and at Avonmouth a small merchant ship was set on fire with Machine Guns.  Mine laying operations off British harbours were continue  German long range Batteries effectively shelled Ships. in the harbour of Dover  British planes dropped a few bombs in Germany  A number of private houses were damaged and several citizens were killed or injured  German patrol boats which were unsuccessfully attacked by British planes in the North Sea shot down on British Aircraft as already reported  A second British aircraft was brought down in flames by AA Guns.  two German planes are missing

German Communique For Whats its worth —–

Nov 30th
During the night following Thursday and yesterday London was again the object of retaliaty attacks of the German Air force.  extensive fires were observed. in the Victoria Dock and in South West London.  Successes waves of strong German Airforce Squadrons. attacked Military objectives in Liverpool, and Birkenhead.  Numerous bomb were dropped. among them some of the heaviest Callibre and fierce explosions were caused. and the sky was lit by fires raging among Warehouses.  further attacks were directed against objectives of military important in Scotland and in Southern and central England. were the target  attack included Biringham Bristol Portsmouth and Southampton  South of Lizard Point German Bomber attacked a convoy and heavyly damaged a merchant ship by direct hits  mine.laying operations off British Harbours were continued yesterday afternoon  German long range Batteries continued the destruction of Military objectives in the Dover area.  long range Batteries also shelled enemy shipping in the eastern entrance to the Channel  last night British Planes again damaged several private Houses, in Northern & Western Germany  There were some casualties none of which were fatal , A small industrial works was also damaged  four British Planes were shot down yesterday two in aerial combat and two by Anti Aircraft Guns. two German Planes are missing_

N.B. The warning sounded at 5.30 pm. & Gun firing started  such a Good Barrage that German Aircraft did not hurt Military or other objectives in Portsmouth – I know as I am here.  the German Pilots Do Not like having to come to Portsmouth – this has been repeated by 2 German Pilots Which has had to Bale out.
